Silent fail creating scraper from github repo

On https://morph.io/scrapers/github, select parliament.nz (matching https://github.com/kayakr/parliament.nz) expecting morph.io to import and use scraper.js but it silently fails, returns to “Add scraper from your GitHub repository”

Thanks for reporting this @kayakr and welcome

This was a strange problem that I’d not seen before. After some investigation I’ve discovered it is a bug: https://github.com/openaustralia/morph/issues/1153

morph.io doesn’t currently support scraper names containing a full stop. Until this bug is fixed the workaround is to rename your repository, omitting the: .

Thanks for looking into the issue and logging a bug. I hadn’t looked at morph.io for a long time, and I’m really liking the experience so far. Thanks heaps.
